Neighborhood Spies And Nightmares

by Lois Erwin

Dear Buzz,

Think of the worst person you know of in your neighborhood, and then imagine this person being given permission and encouragement by our president and attorney general to spy on you and your other neighbors. Whatever observations this person makes about you or anybody who comes to visit you, or about your neighbors or anybody who comes to visit them, will go into a government file. A government file that you will NEVER be told about, but a file that will circulate AS TRUTH throughout the government "intelligence" community.

This neighborhood snitch can, if he/she wants to, make up things about you and your neighbors. Doesn't matter. Once it enters your file inside the government intelligence community, it will become Truth for them, and for you. You will have NO opportunity to refute the charges, clarify matters or even know such charges have been made against you. The East German Stasi knew how to run such a program. Hey, it worked for them; it will work for John Ashcroft and George W. Bush. Their critics will "disappear."

Whatever scurrilous thing your neighbor wants to input goes in the file. Even, to put the best interpretation on it, if your neighbor misinterprets something innocent and turns it into something nefarious, it goes into your file.

The local, state and federal police and government officials are then free to act upon that information. They can already -- since the installation of the Patriot Act -- enter your home without a warrant, without your knowledge, without any opportunity on your part to object, rifle through your belongings, cruise through your computer, and then leave. You will never be told the government invaded your home, warrantless, and snooped around. Does that give you the creepy-crawlies?

Well, folks, it's all true. The government can enter your home nowadays without a warrant and without your knowledge. Your neighbor will be able to turn you in for things you have never done -- just because your neighbor is a sick person, just because your neighbor hates you or hates humanity, or just because your neighbor is a rabid right-winger who loves and believes Rush Limbaugh and/or Ann Coulter and feels it his duty to cleanse the world of people who don't agree with him/them.

Remember, we're NOT talking about your nice neighbors here; we're talking about your worst neighbor signing up to be the government snitch. The crazy neighbor. The guy who loves guns and hates gays. The guy who spouts Christianity and thinks people of any other religion should convert or be killed. That's the neighbor who will sign up for the new government TIP program.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Read this about Neighborhood Watch: http://www.citizencorps.gov/watch.html
AND: http://www.policevolunteers.org/volunteer/

Be aware those are the government's descriptions of the programs. It is up to you to seek out other sources to find interpretations of those programs. It seems benign when you read the Ashcroft version; it won't seem so benign when you read what is REALLY going to happen.

A good place to start is the Boston Globe editorial "Ashcroft vs. Americans" at: http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/198/editorials/Ashcroft_vs_Americans%2B.shtml

Sort of like the gang stalking rumour mill with the help of the State. The other thing is that plans were in place for these types of programs well before 9/11. The event gave them the excuse, but the remedy was well planned before the big day. It seems like when the walls fell down in Germany all that wonderful Stasi spirit just flowed it's way across to the west.

I mean think of all the informants that made their way to our countries, many of them probably could not get past the secret public communicating that they use to do back in their country and I am sure much of this was exported over here.

I remember reading that when the walls fell the FBI got their hands on the lists, so all they had to do was track down the little spies and put them back to work. For many of these people being a spy was a full time job, they got paid to watch people.

How many of them ended up on the FBI pay roll after finishing off on the Stasi payroll? Just like some people that are on welfare and happy to stay that way, some of these people were on Stasifare and happy to stay that way. No need to look for a real job when the government is willing to pay you to do nothing all day long but sit around and spy on someone, that must be the easiest way to make money, prostitutes should have it so good.

Just some of the potential spies that would have been used under opperation T.I.P.S. The truck drivers and bus drivers have been recruited under seperate programs, and what do you want to bet that the others have also? This means that unofficially T.I.P.S. went ahead in other forms. When I add up those numbers I get way over a million spies and this does not even come close to the civilians and the cops and business communities who are taking part in these programs. According to the citizen corp website they have a participation of most of society in one form or other, which is pretty scary when you think about it. Most societies already had these community spy systems in place and most immagrates already know the corporate and don't ask any question rules.

300,000 -letter carriers.
500,000 -Truck drivers
600,000 -Bus Drivers
250-000- UPS workers
 85,000- Longshoremen's association

This is just some of the potential people that would have been taking part. Recently I heard tales of pilots that were being asked to meet a snitching quota, and photo mart employees were also being asked to check undeveoloped film for irregular footage. (Maybe some more of those cool Abu Ghraib pics will be found)

Florida Citizens to Help Catch Terrorists

Law enforcement officials in central Florida are

planning to train cable repairmen, exterminators and

apartment managers to report signs of terrorism inside

their clients’ homes.

Supporters of the program say making private citizens

the eyes and ears of the police will save lives.

But opponents, like the ACLU (search), call the plan

“un-American” and say it’s a violation of privacy.

Operation TIPS (search), a similar program proposed by

President Bush, was withdrawn in 2002 after critics

said it would lead to racial profiling.

So far, 5,000 brochures detailing the Florida plan have

been printed, and volunteers will be trained what to

look for.

But Orange County officials stress that people who go

through the training will be encouraged to only report

what they see — not search for evidence.

Quote:
I went home very disturbed by this conversation. My wife and I talked most of the evening and I came up with what I considered to be an efficient, logical strategy to eliminate the drug house from our midst. The very next day I slowly drove by the house to assess the situation. I observed heaps of garbage, cars in various stages of disrepair, closed off windows and strange wires woven through the front yard. I carefully noted my concerns and placed a call to our local Sheriff’s precinct and spoke to a very sympathetic deputy.

The officer informed me that . . .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

my observations were probably indicative of drug activity, but I had not provided him with the hard evidence he would need to make an arrest. I was honestly shocked. I assumed that a call from a local citizen to law enforcement concerning criminal activity would bring a large response. I had envisioned SWAT team members being lowered from Sheriff Department helicopters into the drug house. After years of faithfully watching Law and Order on TV, and I had assumed that after my single telephone call to our grateful local Sheriff, our drug house problem would be completely eliminated.
The very patient officer explained that my apparently drug dealing neighbors had civil rights that he was charged with protecting. He could not come “take them away” simply because I was uneasy with their presence near my home. I was honestly shocked and even a bit angry. I naively wondered where my tax dollars were going for. I decided to move on to Plan B.

That evening we had a neighborhood gathering. We sat around the kitchen table and discussed solutions to this problem. We decided that if one telephone call to the Sheriff would not prompt action, perhaps they would respond if we saturated them with calls. We also determined that we would apply neighborhood pressure to the “thugs” in the form of intimidation and scare tactics. We decided to become neighborhood spies and we scheduled lookouts for the nights we had come to expect the greatest activity. We dressed in black and hid in bushes, hoping to be able to get just the right information to the Sheriff’s Department so we could reclaim our peaceful neighborhood. I am ashamed to admit that in our frustration, we wasted the time of the Sheriff’s Department with meaningless calls and we even threw rocks at the drug dealers as they taunted us. One of our neighbors who lived closest to the drug house placed a sign in his yard that read “This is NOT the drug house. The house you are looking for is across the street”.

Quote:
This event seemed to galvanize our small neighborhood and we had another meeting around the kitchen table. We invited the Precinct Chief from our local Sheriff’s Office and the Commander from the Snohomish County Regional Drug Task Force. We asked for their help in developing a plan to band together and remove the drug house once and for all. The professionals around the table had suggestions that we had not considered and we had suggestions for them as well. The collaborative plan that emerged that evening became the formula we used to create the strategy for success. Months and months of emotional and scattered response from our neighbors had not gotten us one step closer to freedom from the criminals. The collaborative plan we developed that night was the beginning of the end of our nightmare. Within a few months, the drug house was closed down, the mortgage was foreclosed and the drug traffickers were safely behind bars.

Now in this example if for any reason you were not running a drug house, but had people stopping by for quick stops for various reasons, you would have been needlessly harassed, stalked, and mobbed, but a bunch of know it all who think that they know everything.

The same thing would happenin if they thought you were a terrorist, crazy, prostitute, pedophile or whatever. The good citizens victoriously got the house shut down and the members of the house put in jail. It's never clear in my book, what real evidence they had on these people. I mean it's clear that they were willing to intimidate, call the cops and make repeated complaints before they ever knew if they were selling drugs or not, they were also willing to spy on them and intimidate and harass them, but it's not clear if there was any evidence that they were actually selling drugs.

Also just because they ended up behind bars, it also does not mean they were drug dealers. The story is never clear on how they found proof that these people were drug dealers. Coming from a world of gang stalking these are vital questions to ask, because as we have seen, members of the gang stalking community are often accused of things they did not do, and can end up losing their homes and livelihoods based on lies.
