It’s been one amazing week for Net Neutrality. Nearly 19,000 people filed pro-Net Neutrality comments with the FCC before the docket closed at midnight Thursday night. It was a remarkable outpouring of public support.
And just before the bell tolled, Free Press filed a whopping 198 pages of comments, offering compelling evidence that Net Neutrality rules will promote investment, encourage innovation, create jobs, and spur competition.
In its filing, Free Press not only shows that Net Neutrality promotes investment, but that losing this fundamental protection would unleash harmful, anti-consumer business models. Free Press argues that the true motive of the phone and cable companies trying to dismantle Net Neutrality is to protect their legacy voice and video services from the competition enabled by the open Internet.

Now that we’ve got the FCC’s attention, we’ve got to keep it. The agency will be deciding over the next few months what type of Net Neutrality rule to create, and we need to keep reminding them that the public demands a strong rule to protect our Internet freedom.
Our next step – getting 2 million strong for Net Neutrality. We’re nearly there, with 1.7 million people having already expressed support for an open Internet. Will you join them?

Let’s hope the same people who are “deciding this law”, there should not even be a need, the greedy off-line monopolies want to consume that which is good, they don’t understand the way we function here and want to consume online the way they do offline, the reason many are leaving them in droves, cause many are sick of the pap that they have been feed.
Let’s hope the people deciding these rules have not been greased by the powers that be so to speak. Basically if they have their way, they will water down the online world, the same as they have the offline world, and then people will have access to the sites they control, their controlled opposition sites, the will play thee game and control both sides.
Right now with swine flu, global warming, the war on terror, voices of opposition and reason can still be heard, real voices, if they have their way the only voice we hear will be theirs, and the only opposition we hear, will be the sources that they choose for us to hear.
