The History of the Honey Trap

Five lessons for would-be James Bonds and Bond girls — and the men and women who would resist them.

PHILLIP KNIGHTLEY
MARCH 12, 2010

MI5 is worried about sex. In a 14-page document distributed last year to hundreds of British banks, businesses, and financial institutions, titled “The Threat from Chinese Espionage,” the famed British security service described a wide-ranging Chinese effort to blackmail Western businesspeople over sexual relationships. The document, as the London Times reported in January, explicitly warns that Chinese intelligence services are trying to cultivate “long-term relationships” and have been known to “exploit vulnerabilities such as sexual relationships … to pressurise individuals to co-operate with them.”

This latest report on Chinese corporate espionage tactics is only the most recent installment in a long and sordid history of spies and sex. For millennia, spymasters of all sorts have trained their spies to use the amorous arts to obtain secret information.

The trade name for this type of spying is the “honey trap.” And it turns out that both men and women are equally adept at setting one — and equally vulnerable to tumbling in. Spies use sex, intelligence, and the thrill of a secret life as bait. Cleverness, training, character, and patriotism are often no defense against a well-set honey trap. And as in normal life, no planning can take into account that a romance begun in deceit might actually turn into a genuine, passionate affair. In fact, when an East German honey trap was exposed in 1997, one of the women involved refused to believe she had been deceived, even when presented with the evidence. “No, that’s not true,” she insisted. “He really loved me.”

Those who aim to perfect the art of the honey trap in the future, as well as those who seek to insulate themselves, would do well to learn from honey trap history. Of course, there are far too many stories — too many dramas, too many rumpled bedsheets, rattled spouses, purloined letters, and ruined lives — to do that history justice here. Yet one could begin with five famous stories and the lessons they offer for honey-trappers, and honey-trappees, everywhere.

Gang Stalking: Psychological Targeting in a Group Setting

Rheyanne Weaver
March 09, 2010

The average functioning individual does not have a lot to be logically paranoid about. Sure, there’s the occasional whisper that you overhear and think is about yourself. There’s also the fear that someone is following you. Then there is gang stalking.

This is the ultimate form of paranoia that turns out to be a well-founded suspicion and mistrust. Gang stalking is when a group of people decide to target an individual and attempt to control aspects of that individual’s life and monitor them 24/7. Generally, this is done without the person actually knowing about this organized stalking group, but if a person does find out, the results and helplessness can be devastating.

According to gangstalkingworld.com, “gang stalking is experienced as a covert psychological, emotional and physical attack, that is capable of immobilizing and destroying a target over time.”

The List

How do you get placed on a list?

There are a few ways.

*Someone reports you as a drug dealer, terrorist, pedophile, crazy. They report an incident. A community investigation is opened.

In a normal society this should go on for a few months and be over with, but in the case of Jiverly Wong, this went on for close to 20 years, and in the lives of many others it goes on for years as well, never ending, and it’s used to harass an innocent person.

Stalked, drugged and raped: Is it happening in San Antonio?

Lights left on. Doors open. Furniture moved. Her clothes dryer disassembled. Her friends said they noticed the strange happenings. They tell the I-Team they even witnessed a gas oven left turned on.

“As soon as you walked in the house, you smelled gas,” one friend said. “The whole house smelled of gas. Immediately turned it off, opened up the doors, but that thing doesn’t turn on by itself. And it had been running a good length of time.”

Another friend said she and Vurbeff were stalked at a mall.

Vurbeff said all these happenings culminated in an assault. The 39-year old believes someone drugged the food in her home and returned later to rape her.

“I know something happened to me, because… a woman knows,” Vurbeff stated.

She filed a report and was briefly hospitalized with signs of sexual assault.

What does Climate Change have to do with Gang Stalking?

What does Climate Change have to do with Gang Stalking?

I received an email from an environmental journalist saying that they were a target of Gang Stalking and Electronic Harassment.

They pointed out that they were getting targeted for their views. I do realise that stalking and harassment can happen to anyone with any view that does not meet with mainstream muster.

They pointed out that it’s a bit off setting visiting the site and seeing articles about Climategate, and wondered what it had to do with stalking?

I have been meaning to address this. I realise that for the last week or so, I have been carried away a bit with the Climate Change articles. This subject however is important, cause it shows that even in our time period, people can be told one truth, even when it might not be an accurate truth.

On this site we cover lot’s of different conspiracies. Climategate is a big one. If it can be shown and proven that not only was the science not accurate, wrong in many cases, or just flat out conspiratorial in others, then it can help others to be more open to the idea that other conspiracies might be ongoing before their eyes.
